zalle
Hi guys, I own a 125mm Makita grinder (GA5030R) . Got it 2 or 3 months ago. I was using it with a wire brush, it heated up and stopped working. It works but slowly and makes weird noises, smells a bit like burnt something. What happened? Is this supposed to happen? I got a Makita thinking I was buying something better than the cheap stuff you buy in supermarkets. Thanks for any help
Biggie
Might depend on the size of the wire brush, I personally only run a 3"(~75mm) wire brush on that size grinder. If you're running a 125mm or even possibly a 100mm wire brush I could see it being pretty hard on that size grinder.
Eric - TIA
I would take it back and either get a refund or a new tool. Sounds like the overload protection didn't kick in and save the tool.
