Conductor562
If you had $1000 to spend on tools, what would you buy?
DR99
Man that's a tough one 1000's dollars can get you a lot of cheaper stuff or one very expensive item. Right now I would like to round out my M12 and M18 line of tools get an sds or portaband saw. I would like to have a nice welder but I don't know how much I would end up using it. Harold Wray
$1000 is a lot. I would do a lot of thinking. Do you have a good table saw? Everyone needs a tablesaw. You could use part of that money on materials. Your going to need a bit for your remodel. Of course Anything from Milwaukee. . You could wait for those new FUEL's to come out. What about storage for your tools.
Conductor562
If my computer hadn't crapped out and cost $1100 to replace, I would've bought a Hobart Airforce 250i plasma cutter I guess shit happens
DR99
What happened to the computer?

Conductor562
Mother board went out on my MacBook Pro. $700-$800 for the part plus whatever labor. It was about as cheap to get a new one so I did.
Jeth
That suck's it happened to my MacBook i got a iMac insted
DR99
How old was it? for the price a Macbook costs I would expect to get at least 5 years out of it. Apple products are one thing where buying the extended warranty is worth it.
Conductor562
It was a little over 4 years old, but it did have a rough life. It was transported to and from work everyday, been on dozens of flights, dropped and stepped on more times than you can imagine, etc. It never shut off either. Between work and home I'd guess it got 10-12 hours of use per dad between my and the wife.

Conductor562
That sucks. My computer just went out yesterday. I don't even know why. It just turns on, but the screen stays black and then just beeps That's the same thing mine did. It was the motherboard and the part was $700-$800. The other thing the said can cause that is the ram being unseated. That's free and takes 5 minutes to click it back in. I wasn't that lucky though. Harold Wray
Hey Eric, you should enlist Dan to fix your computer.
Eric - TIA
I am going to get dan to fix it, but 700 or 800 bucks is a lot. Hopefully it is just the ram. Not my day, now my tv went out. Go news is it was the cable box and that is free, bad news no tv tonight.
