Bruce Madden
replacement for variable speed control, 23-66-1667, (NLA-No Longer Available) Milwaukee 1/2" Magnum drill, bought 1980. Someone must have found another control unit that would work with some modification to the handle area? Milwaukee headquarters were no help, but without having to do the mod myself, I was hoping someone out there gad? thanks, bruce madden
phiftyseven
Hard to believe we are the only 2 with this problem, Milwaukee must have sold hundreds of these drills. Everyone probably just threw them out and bought new (we live in a throw away world). I have a 5370-1 Magnum Hammer drill that also needs a new switch. A s you said, Milwaukee was no help, other than to say use a #23-66-1665 as a replacement switch. Well, I got one and it is nothing like the original when it comes to wiring it. Physically it fits, but electrically it's not. I consider myself pretty handy at repairing things, but I can't even make sense of the wiring points, and I don't want to make a guess and risk ruining the drill. I have several Milwaukee tools and never ran into service issues like this before. Might be time to switch to Bosch or DeWalt.
wingless
Welcome to the forum (both of you). This topic shows the repair of my 0224-1 drill using the obsolete 23-66-1350 trigger switch assembly. This topic shows repacking the grease on the gearbox on my 0224-1 drill. Good luck on the search. Mine was not easy to locate.
