Marlon
Hello Forum! I am new here - although I am a Makita User since many years. I just bought the new article DHP482RF3J with three 18V 3A batteries. Yesterday it arrived at my home. The machine works well, everything looks good. Except the batteries. I can't remember that the batteries are all empty, when receiving a new Makita product. When I hit the capacity-button on the battery there is no light on. So it is completely empty. I remember that an empty batterie (maybe stored a long time in a cold place?) is not very good and maybe it will not work for a long time. Or should I not be concerned? What should I do? Send the batteries back and wait for new ones? Best regards, Marlon
Makker
Hi Marion, Exactly the same issue! I have never known a lithium battery to be completely dead! Not even the empty bar. Perhaps this is a shipping safety thing (although it comes with plastic terminal protector) Did you ever resolve this Marion? Did the battery take a charge? Still working now? Doe anyone else have any insights..... Much appreciated.😊
bee-man
I wouldn't worrry about it, unless it didn't charge. Just because the indicators are unable to illuminate does not mean the cells are actually damaged/dead. I've experienced this on a few brand new batteries, but never had any issues after the initial charge.
