Dewalt table saw DWE7485

Just purchased Dewalt table saw. I also purchased a Dewalt 60 tooth blade. On fitting the new blade I find that my work piece catches on the riving knife the reason is that the new blade is 1.8mm kerf and the original blade is 2.4mm kerf . I contacted Dewalt and their answer was to remove the riving knife. I am not happy with removing this safety feature. Was wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if so how was it resolved.
