DeWalt DCD737 cordless dril - no BMS ?

I've got a wireless De Walt drill (14,4 LION) which drains its batteries to a low level of about 7 volts. This is so low that the charger will not charge the battery. I can revive the battery by charging 14v directly on the battery (external power supply). I've got one original and two clone batteries and  all three have the same problem. I've opent the two clones and see no BMS (battery management system). Does anyone know how the batteries are protected against tot low draining and where the error may be?
