Michelin
I have the Makita LS002G cordless 40 volt mitre saw which has a fault on it. I know exactly what the fault is and was wondering if anyone has replaced the part at fault that could tell me if it’s something not too difficult that I could do myself The fault is with the bevel angle locking mechanism. The sliding bevel knob and the bevel knob sit directly behind one another on this model and what has happened is there is a rod attached to these knobs and at the end of the rod for the bevel angle there is a threaded section that thightens up when you turn the knob to look the angle you have chosen. Unfortunately this has snapped on the thread so will no longer lock it stays loose and the knob just turns and does nothing. So I need to purchase a new rod and fit it which is readily available and doesn’t look like too hard a job so my question is. Is this something I can do myself or is there specialist tools needed to do it thanks in advance
Eric - TIA
I have heard of issues with this but don't know much about it and haven't heard any issues or troubles with the replacement,
