Be careful about old date code mfg on dewalt bought from Rural King

If you buy a Dewalt tool from Rural King 1st thing to do is CHECK THE MFG DATE CODE ON IT!

My Son in Law bought a $200 Driver from them August 2nd 2023, registered it at that time, and it quit working a week ago...the driver has a 3 yr warranty on it the first year is 100% covered well when he called dewalt come to find out the DATE CODE was stamped JULY OF 2021!!! Dewalt told him it was out of warranty and couldnt help him! Somehow, miraculously, he found the receipt in a drawer and was able to prove when he bought it. Dewalt reps said registration info they had no dates etc on...can you believe that? So Dewalt is taking it back to fix/replace. IF YOU BUY ONE FROM RURAL KING SAVE THAT RECEIPT...YOU MAY NEED IT! They are obviously selling 2 years old and older tools that have been sitting on shelves...WITHOUT THAT ORIGINAL STORE RECEIPT (and who saves them for that long...after all it WAS registered and had a date code, right? Maybe not)  He would not have been covered. BE CAREFUL
