podric Posted Wednesday at 09:34 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 09:34 PM I have a new to me Milwaukee 6955-20. This thing is a beast at 75lbs. It isn't small either. The miter bevel was stiff and Milwaukee told me there was no torque spec for it so I backed off the nut a little and loosened it up. The miter bevel was also not dead center and so read the manual and went to do the adjustment. I did not use the Milwaukee tool to hold the big red bevel brake arm release. I used a screw driver. The front 2 torx screws were backed off. The first time they were backed off I could not move the adjustment screw much without resistance; maybe I should have forced it a bit? I backed the 2 torx screws further off and the adjustment screw moved with greater range. Still I was unable to do the minor adjustment on the bevel as the screw did nothing. I tightened up the 2 torx screws on the front so I could try again later. NOW: the bevel brake release does not stay in the detent search position and I can sense no positive action on the bevel detent. When the lever does stay up it does not fall on a detent. I am at a loss, I can see inside a little with the scope and can see from the back place but the mechanism is partially hidden from my view via 1" squarish metal plate on a part. The milwakee rep said maybe tightening the brake cable would help but did not know for sure. How do I get this saw back on track? thank you for reading Quote
