Altan Posted November 28, 2024 Report Posted November 28, 2024 It comes in two different models: 125mm (5") and 150mm (6") It seems they understood they did a mistake with the previous ones making them with different batteries. But no cordless router or planer, yet!!! 1
Jronman Posted December 13, 2024 Report Posted December 13, 2024 The naming could possibly be better as it is so close to the name of the other cordless model but not a replacement. These ETSC 2 125 3.5mm and 150 3.5mm sanders are cordless versions of the ETS EC 125 3mm, 150 3mm, and 150 5mm corded sanders. The ETSC 125 2mm sander is a hybrid version of the ETS 125 2mm corded sander. I don't mind the ergo batteries as they are more ergonomic and still use the same chargers.
wingless Posted December 14, 2024 Report Posted December 14, 2024 That would NEVER work for me as when I'm using it for projects, I'm always using my Festool RO150FEQ sander virtually continuously all-day. It has been a workhorse for me, w/ virtually no problems over many, many, many thousands of hard work hours. My guess is that the on/off switch will fail soon, requiring replacement, it has been acting up recently, sometimes requiring multiple cycles to turn on.

If it is anything like the Hybrid sander, the charge time is 30 minutes and the runtime is 30 minutes. This would effectively give you unlimited runtime with 2 batteries. Not exactly as you gotta spend 30 seconds or whatever every 30 minutes to swap out batteries. One minute an hour lost. I would expect this new one to take more power as the ETS EC is a more powerful sander than the ETS/ETSC. If we throw the new 8ah battery on it, I could see close to an hour straight of runtime.
