DEWALT® Launches New 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Reciprocating Saw with Exclusive Four Position Blade Clamp for Performance and Versatility.

TOWSON, Md. (June 2, 2011) – Today, DEWALT announces the launch of its new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion reciprocating saw (DCS380L1), which includes an exclusive four position keyless blade clamp and a 1-inch stroke length for versatility and performance. The reciprocating saw is ideal for remodelers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, fire and rescue crews, HVAC/mechanical contractors and general contractors.

“With features such as a four position keyless blade clamp, adjustable pivoting shoe and comfort grip, the new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion reciprocating saw brings productivity to the jobsite,†said Sean Templeton, product manager, DEWALT. “To ensure this tool meets the demands of contractors, we worked closely with our engineering and design teams. We also gathered extensive feedback from the field by talking to professionals about what they are looking for in a tool. We’re confident our new saw will exceed contractors’ expectations by providing the versatility and power they need to complete a variety of cutting applications.â€

With a 1-inch stroke length that delivers 0-3,000 SPM, the new DEWALT reciprocating saw quickly powers through some of the most demanding jobsite applications. The 3.0 Amp Hour (Ah) Lithium Ion battery provides up to 35 percent more runtime than other DEWALT Lithium Ion batteries on the market, which is important in reducing downtime throughout the day.

The multi-positional blade clamp offers versatility as it allows for flush cutting and reaching tight areas. All of these added features improve performance and enable professionals to complete their jobs efficiently.

DEWALT’s new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion reciprocating saw also features a double oil sealed shaft that helps to reduce contamination and provide durability. A pivoting adjustable shoe extends blade life and allows depth of cut control, which is ideal for professionals tasked with jobs that demand varying cutting depths. The DCS380L1 also features a rubber overmold grip for comfort when contractors are using the tool.

DEWALT-designed electronics are built into the switches of all 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion tools and lights. These electronics provide maximum life for the tools and batteries by helping to protect them from overheating, overloading and deep discharge during use. In addition, the charger for each of the items in the system has dual voltage capabilities, and it is compatible with 12 Volt MAX* and 20 Volt MAX* DEWALT Lithium Ion batteries.

The new 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion reciprocating saw will be available anywhere DEWALT products are sold in September 2011. The new saw is expected to retail for $249.00, and it will come equipped with a 3.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery and charger. The product will also be offered in a combo kit with the new DEWALT 20V MAX* Premium Hammerdrill.

The reciprocating saw will come standard with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee. The 3.0 Ah Lithium Ion battery will come with a three-year free service contract.  For information on available accessories, please visit www.dewalt.com.
