dengebre Posted September 2, 2011 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 I require a 7" grinder that can accept Type 1 abrasive wheels or Type 1A cutting wheels. I recently purchased a Dewalt 7" grinder (Model #DW840K). To my dismay it only accepts Type 27 disks (it does not mention that anywhere on the box). Is there an adapter I can get? I see on-line that Dewalt offers a Type 1 flange set (D284932) but I do not know if it can be used with my model. I called the local Dewalt Service Center but they had no answers. kjones Posted September 2, 2011 Report Share Posted September 2, 2011 I don't have mine in front of me, so I can't look at it to be sure, but it may be a "grinding only" grinder. If you need a 7" cutting wheel, you can return the grinder and get something like the D28499X. It is a large angle grinder, but it takes a 7-9" wheel, and it takes type 1 disks, so that might be your best bet. Good luck! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
