gsapatka Posted September 26, 2011 Report Share Posted September 26, 2011 I have a DW890 that I bought years ago. i came with the standard black charger (DW9116) with the "conditioning button". I have recently purchased a new dual charger (DC 9320). My questions are: 1. Is the old charger as "good" as the new one? 2 Can I leave the batteries in the chargers (old & new) without harming the batteries? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
kanxrus Posted September 27, 2011 Report Share Posted September 27, 2011 The DW9116 has been around for a decade, and has seen a few changes. The newer style chargers no longer have the tune up button. Rather they are built in automatically. Once the 30-60 minute charge is complete, the charger automatically goes into tune-up mode. It equalizes all the cells. If you have the newer style chargers with automatic tune-up mode Dewalt claim's you can leave the battery on the charger indefinitely.
