Senn13
I'm trying to change a blade on my DW 718 Miter Saw and when I try to replace the old blade (5/8" arbor) with the new one (1" arbor) the blade does not spin. Went to Home Depot and one of the sales associates and I came to the conclusion that there should be a blade adapter between the inner clamp washer and the blade. We checked the box on a new saw and couldn't find this adapter. Anyone know if this sounds like the problem and do I have to order this part? Any help is greatly appreciated! kjones
There is a spacer (looks like a washer) with 1in outside diameter, that spaces out the arbor to fit the blades. Check the blade you took off, the spacer is probably stuck in the arbor hole. If you already threw away the blade, you can get the part for a dollar or two from our service center or service.net. Hope this helps!
Senn13
So the little copper looking washer that is in the arbor hole of the old blade comes out and I place it in the new blade?
Senn13
Just went outside and pulled the "adapter" out of the old blade and I'll try it out on the saw tomorrow. I fell retarded now, and thanks for the help!

I have done the same thing myself, and I have had to help a number of users who have done the same thing. You are in good company!
