tooljoe
i was googleing for smt/d LED lights to use in my drill when somehow i stumbled upon this video and i learned something new about the technology (same applies to automotive tech)... interesting how the gears reduce the speed of the motor... which makes sense since a DC motor spins upwards of 10,000 RPM while a fast drills output RPMs are around 2,500-3,000 RPM. and here i was thinking that a faster RPM motor would give me better results... i was actually going to look for a faster spinning motor for my drill to install... actually for a brushless one with the same (or close enough) RPMs and torque... anyways... just sharing. tooljoe
i also found these videos interesting (part 1 and 2)... particularly the planetary part at the end of video one at around 7:40...
