steve1616
I was wondering if anybody has any experience on rebuilding a V28 milwaukee battery pack. I pulled mine apart and found that the cells say E-One Moli IMR-26700A. I can't seem to find these cells for a decent price. Can I used different cells? Hawkfan23
Milwaukee has an updated battery for you under the M28 listing- this is backwards compatible and has the Red Lithium Cells inside, giving a better runtime and cold weather performance. Hope this helps!
golden valley const.
They are backwards compatible but I believe they have the same cells in them. Also no red lithium label on the new batteries. I think they just have added protection circuitry since the V28 packs were a little too easy to fry. steve1616
I can buy an M28 battery for about $125, but I thought that maybe I could rebuild my existing packs cheaper. I was hoping that someone either knew where to get the E-Moli cells or knew of similar cells that would work fine in their place. I used to save money by building my own battery packs for RC cars all the time.
kanxrus
Re-building them is one thing, charging is another. If you plan on re-building them, e-moli makes the worst cell on the planet. I'd suggest anything other than e-moli.
steve1616
Is it ok to put any cell I want into it? I just need a little guidance as to what cells I can use and where to buy them. What do you mean about charging the cells? Is this a concern when rebuilding a battery pack? Sorry for all the questions, but I don't want to make a mistake. General Electric
Try T energy for your battery cells. Be sure to order WITH tabs.
