(Feb. 7, 2012) – Today, DEWALT announces the launch of its 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion 4 1/2-inch Cut-Off Tool Kit (DCG412L2), which is part of the existing 20 Volt MAX* system that was first introduced in June 2011. Ideal for a wide range of construction, maintenance, repair and automotive applications, the tool is designed for electricians, mechanical contractors, ironworkers and automotive mechanics tasked with cutting, grinding and finishing metallic materials. “We are proud to expand our new 20 Volt MAX* system with the launch of this 4 1/2-inch cut-off tool,†said Phil Lalle, product manager, DEWALT. “This cut-off tool is just one example of how we continue to innovate and engineer products that address users’ core concerns to increase productivity and profitability on the jobsite.†The DCG412L2 delivers 6,500 revolutions per minute (RPM) for fast cutting and grinding applications. Additionally, the product offers a tool-free adjustable guard that allows contractors to reposition the guard quickly and safely without the need for a tool or key. A two-position side handle offers increased control and comfort. When tasked with cutting or grinding metal, the cut-off tool’s low profile gear case provides access tight spaces. The kit (DCG412L2) will feature one DCG412 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion 4 1/2-inch Cut-Off Tool, two 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion 3.0 Ah Fuel Gauge battery packs, one fast charger, one wrench, one Type 1 cutting guard, one two-position handle and a contractor bag. The kit is expected to retail for approximately $299.00 and it will be available in May 2012 through industrial distributors. The bare version of the tool (DCG412B) will retail for approximately $119.00, and it will come with one wrench, one Type 1 cutting guard and a two-position side handle.
