kanxrus Posted February 7, 2012 Report Posted February 7, 2012 DEWALT® Launches New 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion Metal Cutting Circular Saw With a Powerful Motor for Multiple Swift, Clean Cuts TOWSON, Md. (Feb. 7, 2012) – Today, DEWALT will expand its existing 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion system with the launch of its new Metal Cutting Circular Saw (DCS373L2). Ideal for electricians, mechanical or HVAC contractors and other professional metal workers, the DCS373L2 has a cutting depth of 1 11/16 inches, allowing for quick, clean cuts in ferrous materials such as uni-strut, threaded rod, conduit, cold rolled pipe, metal plate and pan decking, in one pass. “After conducting extensive field research, we found there was a demand for a powerful circular saw that could cleanly cut a variety of metal construction materials,†said Sean Templeton, product manager, DEWALT. “Our new cordless metal saw offers the speed and portability contractors need when making difficult cuts on the jobsite.†With a motor that delivers 460 Max Watts Out (MWO) and 3,700 revolutions per minute (RPM), the new DCS373L2 offers the power and speed required to make demanding cuts with ease. The blade that accompanies this tool, the 5 1/2-inch, 30T carbide tipped metal cutting blade, quickly and cleanly cuts a variety of metallic construction materials. For increased visibility on the jobsite, the DCS373L2 includes a bright LED light with a 20-second delay and DEWALT’s proprietary Multi-Coated SIGHT-LINE™ window that provides maximum abrasion resistance for a clear view of the cut. For durability, the new saw features a high strength steel shoe that offers resistance against chip build-up as well as a magnesium upper guard. The unit also offers a rubber over molded comfort grip handle that delivers optimal balance and helps contractors complete straight cuts. The DCS373L2 will be available in July 2012 through independent distributors. The product will also be available as a bare unit (DCS373B), meaning that it will come without a battery or charger. The bare unit will be available in April 2012 through independent distributors. The kit (DCS373L2) will feature one DCS373 Metal Cutting Circular Saw, two 20 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion 3.0 Ah Fuel Gauge battery packs, one fast charger, one 5 1/2-inch carbide tipped metal cutting blade and a kit box. The kit is expected to retail for approximately $359.00. The bare model will retail for approximately $199.00. Both tools will come with a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract and 90-day money-back guarantee.
