This disc sander is with 6 amp motor which delivers preformance in high torque sanding applications to speed up the sanding process. Orbits per minute of the tool is from 0 to 3700. DWE6401DS is with VSR trigger dial for versitility in a wide array of sanding applications. Adjustable dust shroud can be connected to vacume to provide improved working environment. Mid-handle design with soft grip and side handle provides increased balance and relieves user fatigue. tooljoe Posted March 4, 2012 Report Share Posted March 4, 2012 this sander looks to just specialize sanding vertically... because the grip looks uncomfortable to sand horizontally. a way to over come the horizontal sanding issue is to just design a grip behind the motor vents... so one could use the trigger lock and the grip behind the vents to sand horizontally with not problem... while still use the pistol grip for easy horizontal sanding.
