lorbas
Hello Guys! I am new to this forum and in the market for a powerful cordless drill. I have worked with the DCD950 and liked it so far. What are the advantages of the newer DCD980/985 over the DCD950? The homepage(s) doesn't show any difference except the new battery style and slightly smaller size and weight. US HP only shows the UWO Rating that doesn't really help me . German HP shows the same drilling capacity for both machines (50mm in wood and 13mm in steel), only the torque is increased from 55Nm(DCD925, the EU Brother of the DCD950 iirc) to 80Nm on the DCD980/985. More torque should translate in better drilling capacity, or do i get something wrong here? So, is the DCD980 the better drill and worth the higher price? Thanks for your comments, lorbas
Hawkfan23
It's too bad you weren't here in the states- I just picked up a combo pack with this drill, 2 3ah batteries, charger and the 12v MAX screwdriver and battery for $80.00 with tax!!! This was FAR TOO GOOD to pass up!!! Very strong drill- ergonomics and feel are far superior to old 18v style. Bottom line- very happy!!! Hawkfan23
The kit for $80.00 was clearance at Home Depot- I have not seen it since I picked mine up, FYI.
