econo Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Hello. I have a Dewalt DC385K reciprocating saw. It changes speed occasionally on its own, even with the trigger held all the way down. I know the batteries are good because they work in my backup saw. Could it possibly need a new switch?. And also can the switch be cleaned instead of replaced since they are expensive. Thanks
kanxrus Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Could be the brushes, if they are worn down and/or spring's not applying proper amount of pressure. I'd rule that out first, as it is the easiest and cheapest repair.
