Hello. I have a Dewalt DC385K reciprocating saw. It changes speed occasionally on its own, even with the trigger held all the way down. I know the batteries are good because they work in my backup saw. Could it possibly need a new switch?. And also can the switch be cleaned instead of replaced since they are expensive. Thanks

Could be the brushes, if they are worn down and/or spring's not applying proper amount of pressure. I'd rule that out first, as it is the easiest and cheapest repair.
