jtmaxwell
I have a Dewalt D55146 type 2 compressor and had the check valve that goes into the tank break. Well, I should say the fitting for the inlet line broke that is attached to the check valve. Anyone know what would cause this to break? Also, I'm trying to remove the check valve by unscrewing it but I'm finding it very difficult to remove. Anyone have an idea on how to remove it? Could I heat it with a propane torch maybe to help loosen it? Thanks for any help! jtmaxwell
I was able to remove the Check Valve. Used a torch to apply a little heat and it came right out. I'm still curious as to why it failed and if its common for that to happen with the check valve? Thanks!
milwaukee
I had the same problem this spring - check valve inlet broke right off. A Dewalt rep told me it's probably from moisture in the tank but I'm pretty good about draining it. Also have a hard time getting the old valve off but will try heating it as well - I thought that expanded things so kinda surprised that works.
