FireFighter
Hi all, I have a DCD970, which has been a workhorse for me, never an issue until now. The chuck will not hold a bit in reverse, as soon as I go to loosen a screw, etc the chuck release my bit immediately. Any ideas how I can repair this? Date Code is 2009 29-49 Thanks! kjones
That is really surprising. Based on your date code, you should have the Rohm pusher chuck (self tightening). If anything, the only complaint on that one is that it gets too tight. If the drill and batteries are still n good condition, you can get the chuck replaced at your local service center, or you can order one from DeWALT service net. FireFighter
Thanks for such a fast reply. I use this drill daily (over the last 4 yrs or so). So, I just go to the service website and I should be able to find the chuck part # easy enough? I'll report back if I can't.
FireFighter
All I saw on the parts diagram is #23 for a conversion kit. Is this correct? Would I be better off doing the GRP service for $99.00, where anything bad, worn, etc is replaced for the flat fee?
kjones
With how often you use it, absolutely.
