jazz568 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Share Posted May 22, 2013 I bought an 18V 4 1/2" cutoff tool and it came with a type 1 guard. It says in the manual that for grinding wheels i will need to get a type 27 guard. I searched everywhere (including De Walt site) but could not find a type 27 guard for 4 1/2 grinder/cutoff tool. The only ones i found was for 7" and 9" large grinding tools. Can someone help to clarify whether i have the right understanding? Can i use 7" guard for the 4 1/2 cutoff tool? However, it does not explain whatsoever whether it is a type 27 guard(or what kind of wheels it is meant for), and what size of grinder/cutoff tools it fits (4 1/2, 7, or 9 inches).
