zinznader Posted December 9, 2013 Report Share Posted December 9, 2013 I have recently bought a new DCD970 to replace my old compact model. It is a significant improvement apart from the fact that if the chuck hits the end bumper when being opened to its maximum size, it sticks and then makes a ratcheting sound until it is closed to its smallest size. I was told that they are sometimes under lubricated from the factory and that spraying some WD40 down the centre of the clutch should fix the problem. However the problem has persisted.
