mcfly5182 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I was at Home Depot yesterday chatting with the local Milwaukee rep and he confirmed that an M12 circular saw will be released later in the year. It will have a 5 3/8" blade and he believes that it will fall under the Fuel line. He told me that he had given a prototype (it's all white in color) to a local contractor that he knows to give him feedback. All that he's heard from him so far is that the contractor is surprised by the battery runtime. Hopefully next time I see the rep he can give me a little more info, like a projected release date. 2
Punda1991 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 That's would be bad a$$! This years gonna be good for milwaukee! I feel it
DR99 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 That sounds really nice the blade size is surprising the Bosch 12v circular saw is only 3 3/8 inches. That's was one thing that limited you with 12v tools was cutting it seems like Milwaukee is taking care of that now.
Punda1991 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 It's gotta be fuel running a blade that size on a 12 volt platform! Right? Lol
Javier Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 I believe it, m12 easily surpasses Chicago electric 18v and if they have a 5 inch blade on their 18v junk then Milwaukee should have no problem making a 12v.Definitely getting the hackzall and mini circular saw m12 fuel
Punda1991 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Does anyone make a cordless worm drive saw?
Schavo22 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Cool. I might wait off on getting a cordless circular saw until then. I would like something small but with a lot of runtime. The one saw I own is a skil worm drive and I'm getting tired of lugging it around to job sites when I just need to make cuts into 2x or plywood.
ChrisK Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 That would be a really sweet tool to have in my M12 line. Plus the added citing capacity with the new 4.0 batteries might prove to be a real winner. That Euro Bosch 12v saw is enticing. C'mon Milwaukee!
DR99 Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 We will probably see 2.5 Compact batteries and 5.0 ah full sized packs soon from everyone a few companies already have 5.0 ah packs.
Brien Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Looking forward to this one. I just tallied my cordless tools and my m12 collection caught up to my Dewalt 18V collection.
Taylors Tools Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Man that is sweet! Milwaukee has been killing it with both the M12 and M18 lines but as Dan says Milwaukee goes for "Disruptive Innovation" and I think this definitely falls under that category.
Javier Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 2.5 and 5.0 m12 batteries would rock. Just hope it doesn't take too long to charge. Maybe with the 5.0 batteries they can make a heavy duty m12 drill powerful enough to need a side handle 1
ChrisK Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 Wow Brien....watch out man. Next thing the 18 line is gonna be on the riise and the BLAM....your background is Red!!! 1
Anonymous Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 We will probably see 2.5 Compact batteries and 5.0 ah full sized packs soon from everyone a few companies already have 5.0 ah packs.I agree with this 100%
DR99 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I just wonder how Milwaukee is going to keep charge times down they will need to add either passive or active cooling. The current battery pack design is pretty air tight.
Brien Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Briens seeing red! It's a good thing Wow Brien....watch out man. Next thing the 18 line is gonna be on the riise and the BLAM....your background is Red!!! Slow down guys, don't get carried away. I love all my tools just the same.
NicholasShetley Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 We all said that at one point. Now we are here.
BK13 Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I wonder if it's going to resemble a typical sidewinder, or maybe more like a Rockwell Versacut?
Brien Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 I actually would prefer a smaller blade to get into tighter spaces. If they can package a larger 5-3/8" blade but still get into smaller areas that a 3-3/8" saw can reach then I am still all for it.
itchyspanner Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 it really wants a small blade imo to make it compact and easy to get into a tight space, its not going to replace an 18v saw so it should really be another animal.
Brien Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 Looking forward to this one. I just tallied my cordless tools and my m12 collection caught up to my Dewalt 18V collection. Briens seeing red! It's a good thing Wow Brien....watch out man. Next thing the 18 line is gonna be on the riise and the BLAM....your background is Red!!! Well it happened... The Fuel Effect caught hold of me... I am the proud new owner of an M12 Fuel impact driver.I used this little fella to drive a couple of lags for TV wall mount and I can't get over the torque. I also got a free 3/8" ratchet in the deal. I have not used this one yet, but when the weather breaks I see it's future under my truck fixing the 4x4 transfer case. So the tally for cordless tools (ballpark because I know I am forgetting a some)Dewalt: 12Milwaukee: 14 (if you count a heated jacket and heated hoodie)
