Dewalt cordless misbehaving...

For the last few months, when depressing the switch all the way, the drill would begin to turn, but either at a very reduced speed or at full speed. If I kept the switch pushed in and it was at a very slow speed, within a few seconds or so, the drill would suddenly kick up to full speed.

Today, the drill doesn't want to turn at all. I'm guessing it's either the switch or the motor. I've disassembled it, but don't find any loose wires. Can someone advise me on how to diagnose either a bad switch or a bad motor.

Thanks.

p.s. any place to get parts other than the DeWalt service net site? Their prices seem a bit exorbitant. Thx.
