flyhop Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 For the last few months, when depressing the switch all the way, the drill would begin to turn, but either at a very reduced speed or at full speed. If I kept the switch pushed in and it was at a very slow speed, within a few seconds or so, the drill would suddenly kick up to full speed. Today, the drill doesn't want to turn at all. I'm guessing it's either the switch or the motor. I've disassembled it, but don't find any loose wires. Can someone advise me on how to diagnose either a bad switch or a bad motor. Thanks.p.s. any place to get parts other than the DeWalt service net site? Their prices seem a bit exorbitant. Thx.
flyhop Posted July 25, 2007 Author Report Posted July 25, 2007 Thanks all the same.Lot of corrosion on the contact too. ordering new brushes.
Eric - TIA Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 My guess is the brushes esp because you said they were corroded. Let me know because I am curious.
