chadlanthier
When I first moved into my home I needed a way for my german Shepards to get out. They were both very large, so finding the right door was a must. Also all the main doors in home are glass. So the wall was only option. Definitely not a one day project. madman_us
Our new house came with a dog door but a bit to small for our Husky. so we bought a new exterior door and also a new dog door in XL from amazon. easy to install, double flap and our dogs just love that door. it you can also purchase it with a wall kit. madman_us
only negative about that door is the weather strip on the left and right side of the flaps, when your dog looses a lot of hair, you have to clean it often. also those flaps get dirty real quick
chadlanthier
My outside flap wears out constantly. By the end of winter the side looks like it's been chewed up. U can tell in those when u start to feel a draft.
madman_us
ok we don't really get a cold winter here - next summer I can say something how they do in 110 degrees

comp56
I did this too but just on our screen from our slider door, that way when screen is closed dog can walk right through rubber flap
madman_us
its a really good dog door - I just recognized the other day when it was really windy here that those magnets are not strong enough to keep the flaps closed
chadlanthier
Yep definitely don't last. I think these could get expensive in long run. Replacement flaps every spring at about $50.
