RickyMcGrath Posted November 21, 2014 Report Posted November 21, 2014 Home Depot is now carry 3D printers.
arkfit Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 That's news, I had no idea...used them back in school to make models. If he price is reasonable, it would be great to have one at home
BIGBEARJT Posted December 7, 2014 Report Posted December 7, 2014 i want a Carvey, most 3d printers never appealed to me, as whats fun about working with more junk plastic? wood and metal is way cooler than plastic! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/carvey/carvey-the-3d-carving-machine-for-the-maker-in-all
chadlanthier Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 It's amazing what they can do. Those things r amazing.
M80 Posted December 10, 2014 Report Posted December 10, 2014 The technology is interesting, but I can't really think of what I would use one for.
Conductor562 Posted December 17, 2014 Report Posted December 17, 2014 The technology is interesting, but I can't really think of what I would use one for.I have the same issue, but I think it's one of those things where once I had it, I'd find 100 uses for it.
RickyMcGrath Posted December 18, 2014 Author Report Posted December 18, 2014 Just think of the possibilities for those innovative type individuals. You can make parts and modifications for tools. Copy one manufacturers part and make it compatible with your go to brand. You could also make replacement parts.
comp56 Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 the possibilities are truly endless..... 1
Kevin121401 Posted December 19, 2014 Report Posted December 19, 2014 way cool to see someone take the time/effort to help pups in need. Specially seeing new technology being used
Conductor562 Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 I just read earlier where NASA emailed a ratchet to the space station where it was printed on a 3D printer and used.Fucking amazing
RickyMcGrath Posted December 20, 2014 Author Report Posted December 20, 2014 I saw that headline. Didn't get to read it though.
keslogan Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 I completely re did all of the electronics and added a new mk8 extruder on a BFB3000. It works as good as any makerbot. If i were to buy a printer I would go with an ultimaker 2 or the ultimaker original+. They beat the maker bots on almost every level and they are only a fraction of the price while still maintaining the print area of the same size
Conductor562 Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 There's a post going up on the main page in the morning about the NASA ratchet
rfwjr Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 the possibilities are truly endless.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRmoowIN8aYIt's great to see the pup more mobile. I saw where they made prosthetic hand for a little girl using a 3D printer.
Scoszko Posted December 22, 2014 Report Posted December 22, 2014 3D printers are really helping with prosthetics. Before it was really expensive to get something custom manufactured and machined. Now, the material is very cheap and a slight adjustment in a CAD program can pump out new revisions quickly. 1
