Khai Le Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Hi Everyone, newbie here. I tried searching for an answer but could not find one. I just bought a Dewalt DC820 and cannot figure out if there is a socket release button or an easier way to change the sockets. Any help would be appreciated!
NicholasShetley Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Is it a pin detent or a friction ring? If it is a pin detent you usually need a small screwdriver or punch to push the pin down.
Khai Le Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 It is a pin detent. So the only way is to use a small screwdriver and push down on it? Seems like a real hassle. Did not know if there was a release button like on a regular socket wrench.
NicholasShetley Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Since you said you just bought it could you get it returned for a model with the friction ring?
Khai Le Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 I bought it off eBay. I would have to pay for shipping to return it. If only way is to use a small screwdriver, I will deal with it.
framer Posted February 10, 2015 Report Posted February 10, 2015 i usually slide the socket on so that the pin does not line up with the hole in the socket. then you can just pull it off.
