Thanks I already  have makita  batteries  and chargers so I might go makita

can you feel the torque control thing? i've read that when under a minimal load or a heavy load, the trimmer changes the power to maximize the runtime or the power.

Good question, I don't remember.  It has been a couple of weeks since I used it.  I tend to use my Ego more because I have more batteries.  I only have two Makita batteries and I always forget to charge them.  I just put them on the charger.  It's one of those things that if it does, i am just so use to it, I don't notice it.  I think you are right.
