Doof
Which should I get, the M12 Fuel Hackzall (w/ free 4.0 xc battery) or M18 Hackzall? Either would be the bare tool. I'm looking to it to perform the odd but intensive demo for renovations, a good bit of pruning, and whatever else. The difference in price is 40$, the M12 Fuel being the more expensive. I bought into the M18 line knowing the charger could charge both m12 and m18 batteries. However, I will defer to those with knowledge about the tools. Thanks! DR99
How often do you plan on doing demo work?
PeteW
it sounds like you have a lot of demo work, so i would say M18 or buy a corded saw.
Charles Harris
I have the fuel Hackzall and Sawzall. If you have intensive demo work I would recommend getting a Sawzall. The hackzall is great for when you need to hold something with one hand and saw with the other hand.If you don't need a cordless tool the 6519 is a great Sawzall and on sale for $99 right now. sparky603
I'm looking to it to perform the odd but intensive demo for renovations... You don't have to look beyond the tool's name to see that demolition is not what the Hackzall is designed for.
comp56
I got both and it seems the hackzall is the go to I grab....
JeremyJ
Real demo needs the m18(fuel preferred) for those times when cutting double/tripled up studs etc. M12 fuel is great for cutting piping, cutouts for bath mirrors, vanities, under sinks and smaller areas. Putting a long demo bade on the m12 and using it is an adventure.
Charles Harris
I took a couple pictures for the Milwaukee 6SECONDSAWZALLCONTEST today. Both are awesome tools.

Bremon
Sawzall is my go to for heavy work, my Fuel Hackzall is for small tasks. Even from its marketing material it seems more suited to cutting conduit, PVC etc.
bothuhead19
I've owned the M18 hackzall and it's definitely a go to for odd jobs and pruning but it does lack the power of a true sawzall. I would recommend the sawzall for your demo work unless you really want a hackzall. If that's the case I would recommend the M18.
