Tim1963
I like that Ryobi has such a large lineup that are all compatible with the same 18 volt batteries. Great prices too. I don't think any other manufacturer can keep up with that.
austinthecity
Maybe screws or something, but no major internals I would imagine. The Ryobi One plus and Craftsman C3 tools are the same though.Really? Do you have a link for confirmation? I've never heard that before.. DR99
Check the Ryobi and Craftsman cordless nailers some differences but pretty much the samehttp://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-ONE-AirStrike-18GA-Cordless-Brad-Nailer-Tool-Only-P320/203810823 http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-c3-19.2v-brad-nailer/p-00942980000P

RickyMcGrath
I think that Ryobi probably makes a good tool for the home owner, but I don't know how they would hold up on the professional world.I see a lot of "pros" using Ryobi. The newer generation seems to hold up well.
kruton
I just bought a ryobi 18v drill and 5-1/2" circular saw just to try out. I don't need them but I thought it would be fun as a DIY guy to put them through a workout and report back.Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Chris
Ryobi makes an alright tool, it really just depends on what you require that tool to do. As far as what contractors carry around, I think some of you would be surprised. I guarantee there are quite a few that have Chicago Electric drills in their trucks for just in the event of... Mac was slumping for awhile, but the last couple of years they have really turned things around and put some great tools to market Glad to hear that, there are a few tools that Mac does make I am interested in picking up. ankur
the ryobi display always draws my attention, but they just don't seem to have a quality feel to them. i think it's nice for a diy homeowner because they make so many different types of "tools" that are compatible with the batteries. trim the hedges, a blower, a nailer, heck they even have a miter saw that works with the system. might be a good entry level system for a pro starting out on their own who just doesn't have the wallet for the nicer stuff, but i can't see it holding up well when they have to be moved around so much. JohnKitinsky
Yeah, since the tool industry is mature it is highly consolidated. And it's only going to get more and more consolidated (as we saw recently with Stanley B&D buying Craftsman and Newell Brands tool biz). Just a few parent companies take in all the revenue and have the cash to buy up all the popular brands. There's this visual that I saw that shows what parent companies own what brands. Here's where it is if you want to look: http://pressurewashr.com/tool-industry-behemoths/#whoowns It is similar to the media game where 6 media companies own 90% of the news, newspapers etc. I think we'll see Stanley Black & Decker acquire more and more brands to dominate further in the industry. Jronman
@JohnKitinsky Craftsman is to SB&D as Ridgid is to TTI? Don't both parent companies just own the name rights?
