DR99
If the price on the 9.0an isn't too crazy that's a good option for high draw tools like the saws and demo hammers. The drills and impacts I would prefer high capacity slim packs

Charles Harris
No doubt now it's a 5s3p pack.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
herbs
That is seriously impressive. Say goodbye to corded tools.
Bremon
And any doubt that it isn't bigger than a standard XC pack.
comp56
couple of these 9.0 batteries and you will be able to run a camp for the weekend.... leave the generator at home....

Bremon
This thing is a bomb. Any one thinking about 5.0s or 6.0s any more?I would love one or two or my grinder and saws but I would be lying if I said I would rather have this than a pair of 5.0s for my drills and impacts. I want to carry less weight wherever possible, not more. I would rather swap batteries at lunch than have one last me all day. 4.0s last me all day as it is. Charles Harris
Yeah! does this mean a 3.0 ah slim pack?!I hope so. Sometimes the higher mah cells won't have as high of discharge rating. So the cells in a 2s or 3s pack would put out plenty of amps for the tool, but might not have enough in a 1s slim pack.
Eric - TIA
I think the 9.0 amp hour comes out q1 2016
ChrisK
Any idea on price Eric? This is going to blow the competition away. Seriously, we're trying to get 5 amp batteries and BAM! 9 amp be-hotches!!!!! IN YOUR FACE!!!!!!
WeldfabNeil
I could seriously use that for my angle grinder and portable bandsaw. Very nice, can't wait to see what they cost.

Seriously, we're trying to get 5 amp batteries and BAM! 9 amp be-hotches!!!!! IN YOUR FACE!!!!!! My thoughts exactly...Milwaukee's like "Pssshhh...5 amp hour? BAM! Take a look at this big 9 inche..r...umm amp hour"
Bremon
Wouldn't be surprised to see these batteries costing $200 here in Canada at first. Regular price for 4.0 and 5.0 is 139.99, can be found for 100. My regular retailer also told me prices got raised last spring due to falling dollar, and have noticed it at HD etc. That said I would still rather have a mix of compacts, 5.0 and a 9.0 than the half dozen 4.0 I currently have. Alan m
wow.total shocker. this really is the end for most corded tools. those really could power all kinds of tools like table saws, routers, larger bandsaws,
Doof
We are in the midst of an energy revolution. This is a sign of that. Hopefully this thing will be relatively affordable for those who need it and the cost for cells will start to drop the price of the smaller batteries. Bigmikez
Man whata devastating blow to the competition milwaukee really has me thinking right now......Red or Yellow Red or Yellow Red or Yellow Hmmmmmmm.....
Poisonfangs85
That is insane! They are really blasting the other guys with this one! Excited to see more!
Bremon
DeWalt's show especially seems like a distant memory. A good chunk of what I saw from them were yellow versions of 2 year old red tools, and just days later Milwaukee shows the future of cordless tools. Exciting times to already be invested in the red system.
DR99
Dewalt does have some big positives like the new miter saw, and nailers. Some of the stuff being made in the USA is pretty big too. From a few comments Dan made Milwaukee is looking into bringing more manufacturing here. It would have been nice to see Milwaukee release some nailers, but its not really their market either. They sell more trade oriented than general contractor tools. They do have overlap, but its not their big push.
eltoro
Seems odd that they also didn't come out with a two stack 6.0 Ah battery since the 9 is a three stack (and a 1 stack 3.0 Ah battery like others have said).
Bremon
They likely will Eltoro, maybe closer to when the big battery releases in the future.

Charles Harris
I looked at the link Doof provided to the new tool on the Milwaukee site. They are showing a new rapid charger. http://www.milwaukeetool.com/accessories/batteries-and-chargers/48-59-1808
Bremon
I noticed that charger as well, a much needed update. Rob Robillard tweeted Mikwaukee says nailers are a year or two away.
