kenmen
I would like to buy a new router, but not sure what to go with. I see a lot of Dewalts, but I have a friend who has a Porter Cable and he swears by it. I will only use it about ten times a year. Any thoughts? dewaltking
Both Dewalt and Porter Cable are great routers. Bosch and Makita make a good one too. Since you are not using it a lot, I would go with a refurbished model to save some money, since it will be sitting on a shelf. Use the extra savings and get some good bits. WesternTool
Good advice DewaltKing. A new router can cost a lot, but if it is only getting minimal use, a used one doesn't hurt. But if you would really like a new one all the brands you mentioned are great quality. Word of mouth is valuable though, so if you friend swears by his Porter Cable, that is a way to go. At Western Tool we carry a lot of the top brands for routers, so you can compare price, brand and other specs that you are using to make your decision.
