Milwaukeh
My red snips are a staple in my bag, I use them at every job for a variety of things, more like "universal scissors" for me. Iv always had the same wiss snips, but after they were "mistakenly melted" I replaced them with a pair of milwaukee snips. The milwaukee snips are great, they cut super smooth, but for someone like me with smaller hands the grips just don't feel exactly right. I never feel like I can get a solid grip on them like I could those wiss snips. The snips also don't open wide enough for me to cut the copper line set when I'm taking out an old a/c unit, which is super annoying and doesn't fulfil my needs. So I ended up getting another pair of wiss snips and wouldn't you know it, absolute garbage! Did I just get a bad pair? I mean I couldn't even cut paper with these things. I can barely even get them open! Has anyone else had quality issues with wiss?Iv angered the tool gods, I just want my old pair back.
jeffmcmillan
I heard at one point Wiss switched from forged to cast snips which may be the problem. Unfortunately all the good snips I've used have been quite old so I can't say much about newer products. You may have better luck getting a used pair on ebay. Justin Hernandez
You might want to try Midwest brand, I use Wiss and haven't had a problem but their a few years old, my next pair will be Midwest
DR99
I also heard good things about Midwest brand snips.
Poisonfangs85
I too had issues with a pair of newer Wiss snips. I did the switch to Milwaukee and I think they are fantastic, for my needs anyways mostly just studs. I also have heard good things about Midwest. Kinda surprised the milwaukees can't cut a line set.
