Both are good, but you have to remember they are on 12V, so they are only so powerful. They will cut into wood, metal, pvc and more. Personally I like the Porter Cable more because it can pivot. If you are just cutting wood here and there, I would take a look at what other tools are in the manufacturers other lines to see what else you might use down the road. That way if you get something else, you don't have to buy new batteries etc. You can just get the bare tool and you will be set to go. The milwaukee does make a great line of tools.
