novice121
Hi guys, let me get to the point. I have bought several Makita cordless tools online from different retailers (CPOTools, Toolup, Toolbarn, Ebay mostly), and they all have their sticker with their serial numbers on. Some tools were bought from Canada, through Ebay. I live in Florida, and I was always too busy to register any of these tools online, but most of them are within a year of purchase, and some over... My question is, can I just take the tools that crapped out on me to any Makita authorized factory center (Makita Factory Service Center2101 NW 33rd St., #800A (Whispering Lakes Commerce Center)Pompano Beach, 1-800-462-5482) , and will they be able to help get these tools fixed? DR99
If you have proof of purchase the warranty starts on that date if you don't the warranty is based on the serial number on the tool. I'm not sure about eBay purchases the warranty still applies but I think you have to buy from a Makita authorized retailer to use the receipt as a proof of purchase. The warranty would only be based on the tool serial number in that case.

NERemodeling
I've only had to bring in one makita tool for warranty but they made it a very simple process. I'm sure they will take good care of you.. The Canada tools might be an issue if they have different model numbers than the same US tools but who knows.
DR99
The Canada thing might be an issue if they don't sell the tool in the USA yet or like NER mentioned if the model numbers are different that could be an issue.
novice121
Thanks guys, I'll try it soon... it sucks they close so early, and don't open in the weekends. I will have to loose a day's work to do chores like that
Andrius
In my country you must purchase tool from same country you are requesting for warranty. But we dont need to register tools online to get 1 years warranty.
