Congratulations! No renovation here yet :( We've had to get a new dishwasher, fridge, microwave and range since we moved in in 2012. They all died at different times so we ended up getting what we liked and could afford for each instead of a combo deal. Our latest addition is the range - a dual fuel from Bosch which, so far, we're really happy with. I love having gas on top and my wife loves the electric oven (she bakes bread every other day and cakes probably once a month or more). Our cat tipped the cordless kettle over onto the old range which soaked down over the lip and got into the electronics. I don't know whether to thank him for that or send him off to a Chinese restaurant ;) but it wasn't worth spending $400 on a part for a crappy range from 1997.

I am very familiar with Bosch's quality when it comes to tools, but what do you think of their appliances? I have heard they are really good. My wife wants to replace our double wall ovens with a new Bosch unit.

for dish washers it seems all manufacturers have a hit and miss........we have a kenmore now that is about 12 yrs old and hasn't skipped a beat.....not sure we have been eating of clean dishes last dozen years but they look clean to me......lol

I do a lot of kitchens. Over the last ten years I've done too many to count, but I can say that Bosch is probably the number one brand when it comes to dishwashers. Oddly, I don't see any clear leader in ranges, fridges or microwaves (I think a lot of people get package deals). So far we both really like the Bosch range. I'm the one who wanted the gas cooktop and for the few things I've had a chance to do so far, absolutely no complaints there with the small exception of the knobs, which seem a little wobbly to me - but I grew up with a Garland commercial over at home and haven't had an American market gas unit since I moved out 25 years ago (I had gas ranges in Europe but that's a whole different story). My wife REALLY likes the electric oven. She says it's the most even baking she's ever done, even on the plain BAKE setting. I don't know if she's tried the convection setting yet.

I went with the LG package mainly because of price and the options it comes with, bottom line it will be 8 fold better than we had and will look even better than we had.........for the new kitchen....is it top of the line?....not a chance but I didn't pay for top of the line nor did I want to......
