JimboS1ice
oh ok thought maybe you were scared to strip the irwinPretty sure it's rated for power use, I've heard boots can get pretty stuck in it under power.JimboSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bigmikez
Thanks for the video Jimbo I need to get me set of those for the house we have some Matco ones at the shop or they might be cornwell but either way I need some for the house. Thanks man!
stainlessstroker95
Nice video jimbo. I have the same set, and used it along with a impact to get a fancy lug nut off. So I would say it is impact rated after I got done with it.
chadlanthier
I used these last summer when I was building my deck last summer. These r fricken awesome. Work like a charm.
DiverDn
Thanks for the video, I would have drove the boot out socket on there with a hammer and then backed it out with the Beast. That would have put it to the test. John
Mondo1310
I was debating on buy this set at advance auto today. I was helping my uncle replace a stuck thermostat but he managed to strip a bolt before I got there. Ended up taking the whole thermostat manifold off to remove the stripped blot off using a snap-on flank drive wrench but I think this Irwin kit would have been easier to use. Plus I could have used the M12 ratchet.

Mondo1310
I totally forgot you did a video on theses and had to watch it again. Advance auto has the set same price as Amazon which I was surprised to see.

Kato
I've used the Irwins on impacts, if you do it right you won't hurt them. I have a few sets at home, also the Irwin 1/4" shank ones and the spline ones. I use them quit a bit, at home and at work. We have a ton of the Irwin bolt-out sets in the shop. Customers return them thinking they suck, but the truth is that they typically use the wrong size for the bolt and it slips. When they come into the returns dept I snag them and toss them in the shop. I also have a set of Grab-Its, those "seen-on-tv" extractors, and they work great. Kato
Like I said, we get these returned far too often, and most of the time it's because they didn't know how to use it. With any of the Irwin extractors you have to use the right one for the application. I've been using them all for a long time and haven't had any issues with any of them. jeffmcmillan
The problem with those on impacts is that if it does slip and you don't control the impact, it can shred the fastener and the extractor so you're in a worse situation. Doing it by hand you get more feedback and have less chance of damaging something even more.
