Conductor562
I'm in charge of buying door prizes for a union dinner. We try to keep each prize under $200 and we typically buy about 10 prizes. We usually stick with electronics but this year I decided to buy at least 2 tool prizes. I bought a large Craftsman socket set and I'm considering the $179 Ridgid X4 Drill and Impact combo. I can get a 3 piece previous generation X3 combo that also includes a circ saw for $20 more. The X3 kit comes with 1 battery while the X4 comes with 2. I've used the X4 stuff and I like it a lot. I have never used the X3 stuff. What do you guys think? I'm leaning toward the X4. The X4 has an LED light but beyond that the changes were primarily cosmetic. Kinda odd the 3 tool kit comes with 2 batteries while the 2 tool comes with 2. PutnamEco
I usually aim for the newest tools, especially if it is going towards a give away. Someone might feel they are being shortchanged by receiving obsolete tools.
wayneburgess
The X4 sounds a great package and they can always add to it later.
Conductor562
My way of thinking is in line with you guys. Most people I work with don't know there is a difference between the 2. My luck the guy that wins it would be that 1 guy that does.
