I worked out I could buy 4 Metabo for the cost of having a Hilti on fleet though.

And they break just like all the rest, am just pissed off that it has happened and to a tool I have had 11 months and was too busy to notice that you must complete the warranty form on line before you get the three year cover.

So what will be will be and will let you guys know how I go on with it.

The fine print on some warranties is really a killer. If Hilti is so expensive there it might be worth paying the shipping from elsewhere. I can't believe they are so hardline on having you all sign up to there fleet program. I would think they lose a lot of business by doing so.

Sounds like you lucked out having them fix a tool you abused....

If you don't like down time on tools, Hilti is still worth paying for, my 36v is 6yrs old no issues apart from one battery fault, it was back within 2days. I do manly 20mm holes into re enforced concrete, I have a core drill for larger holes and a corded TE-7 for multiple holes.
