wildroamer Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Just got one and am unsure if it is defective, or working as it should. Quote
JimboS1ice Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 can you describe whats wrong with it? Or what you think is wrong? Might be able to help you 1 Quote
wildroamer Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Hey Jimbo, Well I was under the impression that it would only fire if there was a nail protruding from the wood surface. However, I notice that it will fire on a flat surface if I pull it up, and then press down again. That said, I think it probably is working correctly, otherwise it would be very difficult to get a nail driven flush. Quote
JimboS1ice Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Yea they operate based off of pressure, so as long as there is something there to engage it, if that makes sense... Quote
wildroamer Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Right. I just figured if you pressed it against flat surface it wouldn't go off. I'm really impressed with it though! Certainly not something for driving finish nails anyway. Your battery model operates similarly? Quote

The only difference is I have a trigger with the battery, but to engage the hammer function the mechanism needs to be fully depressed then the motor engages, similar to a screw gun. Quote
wildroamer Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 OK, thanks, sounds like I'm good to go! This little sucker is pretty slick. Lot of force for a 1-pound dealio. 2 Quote
JimboS1ice Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Yea they are pretty cool tools, personally i see more use out of a cordless version that being attached to an air hose but they definitely are a cool tool to have Quote
wildroamer Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Probably need one of each, at least! I agree with you on the cordless in many cases, but if I've got power and air, no running out of juice, which drives me nuts with my other battery tools sometimes. 1 Quote
