  1. Considering getting the new Makita 40 volt 8 1/2" sliding mitre saw. It would only be out of my shop maybe a few times a year. Where the cordless would be a benefit. What are my chances of getting a 120 volt to 40 volt power supply and rigging something up. Concerned maybe a chip inside battery or toll that talks to each other and stop me. I dont keep my shop heated. So not great for the battery. So best if I can mainly run it from a outlet.
  2. I have 3 of the trim routers. 2 electric and one cordless. And yes I cut the hole larger to take the bigger bits. 15 years and no problem for me.
  3. Been happy with the sub compact drill. But at times drill bits slipping. hard to tighten enough. Anyone know if there is a replacement chuck. Like on my makita hammer drill. Better chuck that ratchets down tight.
  4. Trying to decide. Have the first model makita 120v compact router without the led lights. Would like to have a second one just to save on the rare occasion with bit changes. I seem to use these compact routers for 99% of my router work. Also needed to get a the plunge base. So was just going to buy another corded model. Not something I use every week but wonder if it would be nice to have the new cordless model instead. Since I already have plenty of the batteries for the other tools. Concerned it may feel top heavy or strange since used to the corded. And if I will be giving up any power. Anyone used both models? Any suggestions? Thanks Also wanted to add. Is anyone happy with the plunge base. Does not seem to get good reviews like the bosch or dewalt. Because of this wonder if I need to have another brand since the plunge base will be important to me. Sorry for so much rambling and questions.
  5. I remodel homes. But sander just gets occasional use. Far from everyday. Go thru spells
  6. Need a new 5” RO sander.Really liked my old low profile PorterCable 390K. But they do not last. So now trying to decide on the Makita BO5041K or the BO5031K. All the others I have had in the past did not have the handles like on the BO5041. Looks like a good idea, but don't want to regret it later. Is it something I will get used to and like? Or should I stick with the Makita 5031K which is more like what I have been used to for the past 20 years.. Has anybody tried one? Is there any case where you did not like the extra handles? Thanks
