  1. Hi all. It has been a while since I purchased power tools. I have a fairly good background in general construction and carpentry having been raised working in the industry. I run set construction for a very active high school theatre program. I am faced with needing to rework the program's tool inventory. We have mostly dated, donated items (as in, Dad gets a new drill and donates the old one to the program) with mismatched batteries and inoperable chargers. Hand tools are easily replaced, it is the cordless ones that I am hoping to get some input on. As part of the work, we try hard to teach kids proper use and safety. For many, they have never used any hand tools or power tools. I am hoping to move towards a single platform of durable, reliable, warrantied cordless tools. Mitre saw and circular saws are almost unnecessary to replace as the power versions on hand are more than sufficient. Our need is drills and drivers and jigsaws. We use screws for most things in order to reuse the lumber and save on costs. A major issue is that the tools are not in constant use. Between shows, they sit for months. I need to find the best way to store them during those months so that they maintain the longest useful life possible. Any input would be appreciated. Tony
