  1. Wow, and here I thought that the customer service rep would have been a definite answer.

Not having that radio is just about infuriating enough to make me  see RED. :P

I don't know, guess I will never understand why corporations have a tendency to push their customer base (the people who actually communicate) off to the side.

I wonder why it's taking so long, what features will it have, or who will be providing the amplifier and speakers. Rockford Fosgste, klipsch.....wishful thinking

It has nothing to do with that man, other factors involved, that is why the launch date was pushed back......

  2. So I just got off the phone with customer service. The young lady on the other end said (in a completely confident tone) "it will be released in the 3rd quarter, so... around October".

I'm currently borrowing a 14v battery from a friend to keep my old work sight radio going. I hope they can do an early 3rd

    Quarter release

Sorry, not soon as you think......next year

  3. AMEN!!! So I'm going to the Nascar race in charlotte tomorrow and I'll be asleep there will be some tailgating involved .. I forgot that I gave my 18 volt batteries to a friend who still uses the system. all I have now or 20 and 12 volt tools (cordless).. so I had to borrow back some batteries to take my radio...I have 4 20 volt 3.0 and 6 12v... I LOVE the flashlights...I NEED THAT RADIO...

    Soon, very soon....

  4. There is a press event scheduled for June 6. I'm hoping this is part of the announcements made there. I wonder if they will do anything with the new batteries that will adjust max torque on the tools when using a 4.0Ah battery as compared to a 3.0Ah battery? From what I understand, you can use the tool/battery electronics to modify both torque and run-time within the parameters of the battery-tool ecosystem.

    ??? ???

  5. Yes anyone have an official/unofficial launch date on the worksite radio? I have just order the new DCD980L2 20V dewalt drill. I really want the new radio for this summer on the boat for walleye fishing and the jobsite.

Not sure on when and details are still sketchy

  6. I have 4 of these 18V batteries.  I also have 4 of the yellow chargers.  I just bought these batteries (new), but are stamped as 2010.  I left the batteries in the chargers for 2 days straight.  Then pulled all 4 of them to get the voltage with a high quality digital meter.  They all read 19.9V exactly.  I do realize they were fresh off the charger & not under a load.

Without opening the packs, how would I know if mine has the Sony or A123 cells inside?

Maybe the packs with 'NANO' on the side has the A123 cells & the newer packs with 'XRP' is the Sony?

The labels with "Nano" are mainly A123 cells, the "XRP" are either both and the only way to tell is the part number on the battery and the serial number

  7. And from what I've noticed every company out there is terrible with their marketing.  A year or so ago I was shopping for some 12V tools.

I saw stickers that were literally put the Bosch 10.8V tools to say that they were 12V.

Yes this is true, when Bosch first came out with the sub-compact line (10.8v) it was a hit, but the North American market wanted more, so they slap on a sticker and call it 12v.......here you go

I saw the same thing for DeWalt Nano-Phosphate.  A sticker over the battery with XRP-Lithium.  Where did that ever go?

Actually, Dewalt upgraded the circuitry in the lithium packs and add some new cells, so it was changed to XRP lithium to correspond with the performance.

Just seems to me like no one is exempt from their marketing teams getting carried away.

That's  marketing for ya..........say did you see the new mustangs have over 300hp in there V6 model?  Well guess what, that hp rating is at the crank

All I was saying from my original post is that everyone that went to that event was quite impressed with what we not only watched but I demo'd myself.

You were impressed because they stuck a battery and tool in the freezer, placed a thermometer to show you how cold it is and then proceeded to drill some holes?  Well try placing placing that tool and battery in the freezer over night then perform the same test, let's see if you are still impressed with the performance and run-time.

Maybe DeWalt will expand their 12V line and we'll be comparing apples to apples.  Until now all I ever see online is a drill against a drill.  Milwaukee's got over 30 tools in 12V.  How do you compete with that?!?

Well they dominate the 18v line with over 40 tools and one, well two batteries (NiCd and Lithium) and the 12v line is still new, so what do you think will happen next?  At least they are not competing against themselves......now how about them apples

  8. Fly to Europe and..... j/k I would assume you would find them on Ebay.uk? Not sure if they would work over here or not based on hertz, AM-FM programing, and the plug? Not my expertise.

I use my DC013 to play music and that's all, so the programming is same, and if i want to use the charger on the radio all i have to do is get a 110/220v converter...........ding, instant charger  ;D

  9. Here is just some of what i have, alot more are missing in the picture not to mention two other radio's, a chop saw and some grinders and polishers, and no, i do not know how many drills and batteries i have  ;D
