  1. Think fein might give them a run for their money, they now have a quad speed, brushless 12v! With interchangeable chucks!. I'm a Hilti man through and through but I need a new multi master too and they have a 12v compatible one now so seems they've almost stolen my heart ?.

  2. Hey Sven welcome. Been using Fein for years!, currently got the old incarnation of the corded multimaster, I've been holding out for a year because I was waiting for the lith cordless 18v to land, then I get down to one of the largest tool fairs in the UK a couple of weeks ago and as promised by your staff the year before there it was! Only slight problem, it's still got a brushed motor! And 2.4amp hour batteries. Do you have any idea when the jump will be over to brushless on the cordless?. Thanks

  3. I'd like to see a multitool and as you say a miniature sawzaw like milwarkees! Which we use all the time cutting plasterboard boxes into double tacked ply lined walls in retail units. Killed 2 milwarkees so far lol. Unfortunately I can justify a new line of 12v stuff as I'm tied into the 22v and festool/protool drill drivers. Would have been nice to see a removable chuck system rather than having a separate drill driver and screw gun.

  4. Hilti haven't let me down yet, brilliant customer service and great products. Talking with them at a recent tool fair in the UK makes me a bit excited for 2016. Finally they are bringing out a charger radio!!!!! Lol plus the nail gun and larger capacity 22v batteries the states have already gotten

  5. You.sir have been the first person to tell me a real issue with makita but im sure it could just be a lemon and im.sure every brand has a lemon or too that get mixed in and some unfortunate trades men ends up.spending there hard earned money on it but thanks for that imput im.really just thinking about there new big 18v hammer drill i heard its killing the rest

The 18v SDS is a real jewel in that range and couple it with the dust extraction unit and it becomes a amazing proposition, we do fight over it at work as we do install equipment and lights once all works have been completed so surfaces can't get dirt on them, I even have to put my Hilti down lol.

  6. In the UK in my opinion makita ruined their reputation a few years back with the whole issue with their 18v lith batteries, they also extended the range of tools far too quickly and managed to dilute the quality of individual tools. As a more positive they do seem to have sorted a lot of the problems but still it frustrates me that they seem to make the tool kit sets of a lesser quality than the individual tools, the apprentice has just got the set including the SDS, impact, drill driver, jig and work light put the impact side by side with the other guys new one and the battery indicator is missing LED work lights aren't as good and the moulding of the plastic looks rougher :(. If it where my money it would be Milwaukee for sure!.

  7. I have only just been a convert to one make and battery platform, I use to take every tool on it's own merit and all the crap that comes with it chargers etc boxes that don't match! now I've settled on the Hilti 22v platform I don't think I'll ever go back to individual brands .

  8. Thanks so much for that link sir!

I'm sorry to say that I don't think they offer the same service in the US, shame really as I would have thought it might tip some people over to the blue and green machines.

  9. @Pennywise dude. That sucks. I had no idea Festool has an insurance plan though. I wonder if it's UK only? Regardless that is an awesome feature for your mate. I hope those guys get caught though. That's taking from a guy's pocket when they do stuff like that.

Yep it's a pretty good deal saves on having to go through insures and the aggravation and all you have to do is register the tool for the warranty agreement and your covered. Obviously it doesn't help losing a potential of $3k worth of festool insurance payout lol. This is the policy.

  10. Thanks Pennywise, can you use stranded and solid wire in a connector ( wire of the same gauge) or do you have do install like for like in one connector?

Nope you can use various types of gauge in the same connector the spring adjusts to the size needed so you mix and match stranded with solid, as long as you use a separate terminal with the different types of wire, ie a three way block with a solid in the first and stranded in the second not both twisted together and shoved into one.

  11. Ordered some Wago wire connectors. Anyone try these? saw the review Dan and Eric done on them and figured I give them a try

Brilliant connectors, I'm a UK electrician and have used them for about 5yrs, they are more common in Europe and Germany, perfect product and definitely speeds things up.

  12. I see some Mafells in that pile. Are those his stolen tools or his replacement tools? Also curious if he has any idea who the slime swelling suck hole is that stole them? Did he have his tools registered for insurance?

Those are all his new tools, think he had about $30k of tools stolen in one go he had the festool insurance which means you pay a flat fee of £100 and get the tool back new regardless of it's worth. They didn't find the guys who stole them, it was in Central London they reversed another van up to the back of his and just transferred everything. All his Hilti stuff went too which he still hasn't replaced

  13. I'm thinking if carbon fibre had been a viable alternative to a milled ali box level or cast level stabila would have adopted it way before dewalt. I'd be interested to see how this one pans out, worse case scenario I'll get one and black out the dewalt logo :).

  14. Would have liked to have seen it with a plunge cut not pendulum. Most tradesmen are very ignorant when it comes to cost saving and investing in there tools, they either are broke all the time and can't afford to tool correctly and then take the piss out of people that have got the correct equipment or just don't see the benefit as they work around others that just make do lol.
