The uk uses 110v on site so I can't see it being hard to have the flexvolt ac/Dc adaptor on uk sites for the saw. I used to use the dewalt 24v Ac/Dc converter years ago.
If if a home owner want to use the 120v then they simply have to buy a transformer
If we do see the 120v saw in the EU why bother with the smaller 54v when the 18v and 120v should meet all needs. Seems strange really. Maybe the 120v EU version is going to be very costly due to the changes they have to make to meet CE mark.

There will def be a price drop after 6/12 months as seen with other dewalt tools in the UK. As with alot of these goods there is a certain high demand at the start from consumers that will purchase as soon as possible.

i alittle sad about the uk market not getting the big 120v mitre, we are getting a 216mm 60v mitre based on an old model of saw sold in the EU. Maybe when we leave the EU system dewalt can sell usa spec tools to the uk market without having to change design/ safety features.

filtering out the faff he does give you an idea of what your getting quality wise inside different tools. When your deciding on a tool and you know one make has poor switches in the tool or another had better quality plastic its all good info in my eyes.

Dewalt are late to most party's so I'm not expecting a huge step in tech from them tbh. A higher torque 18v drill would be them catching up, a battery that switches between 18v and 36 is pointless unless they make some good 36v tools. There 12v line is dead which is why many have switched away from it.

ave's review of the ryobi shows it has a weakness or two which puts me off alittle, especially the switch/trigger but i guess theres a reason they are cheaper.

looks like a systainer type/ made box like the makita, other makes have cases made by the same manufacturer i think aswell.

i have 2 bosch, one a worm drive imported to the uk from the USA. i have not used them for a few years tho as i survive with my dewalt 18v xr for most my work.

ive imported PC 20v drill driver and impact to the uk and been using them every other day for 1.5 years and im very happy with them, better than i expected. I got them just for a change as everone i know (me inclueded) has Dewalt and Makita so i wanted to be different and its pointless somebody nicking them out my kit as they wont be able to get a charger without some effort.

Hitachi have joined the over 110nm club with the new Hitachi DV18 DBXL with a max torque of 136nm. Thats now Makita followed by Milwaukee gen 2 and now Hitachi....... in the next year or so will we see 140-150.
Come on Dewalt its sometimes cool to be late to the party, but dont turn up when the beers been drunk

id have to say the makita 36v (2x18) looks likely to be top of the tree for now, but a tool fight between them all is needed by one of the video channels.

looks alot better than the dewalt performance wise, which is hard to say cus the dewalt is so good. shame its not got a version of a xps light.

i have the milwaukee and its great, i want the makita x2 tho, it looks bostin.

oh ok, i didnt know the corded stuff didnt have 3 years. dont really rate there corded stuff that much apart from the mitre saws.

when the dewalt 12v line came out i was all over it, ive now sold it and gone m12 fuel due to the dewalt line not moving forward. shame as the dewalt grip is like a glove.
as for new tools id love a powerful brushless angle drill/ hole hawg, a cooling fan, table top tile saw and maybe batts like the black and deka with a usb port in the top.

they have not bumped anything up have they? its been a 3 year warranty for many years if registered with a month.

cool video, the factory looks very good and the fact they make everything in one site is impressive. Ive been on a tour of a Bosch boiler plant in the UK, really amazing how much goes into the systems in these places. You realise what your paying for when you see the size and cost of the machines and tools being used.

so ive noticed that finally Dewalt in the UK are going to release the 18v mitre saw in Feb. Looking at the pictures on several UK interweb shops you can see the EU/UK version of the saw saw is quite different looking.
Its got a cheaper looking table which is without the stainless indent plate, the turnbuckle (replaced with a turn knob), and for some reason they have stuck some cheap looking plastic table end handles instead of the ones cast into the table on the USA version,
i was looking forward to buying this saw and holding back on getting the milwaukee m18 mitre because the dewalt looked so good with xps and a higer rpm, Now im thinking the UK version is a fugley poor version of the USA saw.
what do you guys think?

i for one would love a cordless table top type tile saw, I am not a tiler, but i do tile bathrooms and other small tiling jobs every month or two and i use a cordless grinder if i have no power on site.
anybody else think it would be a nice tool to have?

ive had 4 bosch cordless sds drills and 3 milwaukee, the bosch are alot better in my experience, in both power and build quality. Ive not tried the new fuel ones but if i had to choose from scratch the bosch line wins hands down.

Yes get a corded sds plus, bosch make the best ones, both corded and cordless.
Wish other manufacturers did this...

Sometimes wish tools cases had more than 1 extra batt store, I don't take my chargers to site but do put extra batts in the cases.
