It definitely depends on what type of work you predominantly do, if it is mainly demo than I can see a lot of batteries because there isn't much measure twice cut once time on stuff like that but if you do more fastening then maybe only two or three as you can do a ton of screws with a 4ah battery now a days. The other thing that matters is do you have other "accessories" like a radio, heated hoodie, that type stuff that isn't really a tool but yet takes up a battery or two.

I know the feeling of using a beater in those type of nasty conditions, I come across this more with my sawzall than my impact but I know the feeling very well

I baby the shit out of my tools, almost never let them touch the ground, clean them every time I use them but I will say I don't shy away from using the tool at it's limits.

I don't do a lot of carpentry at the moment so the jig saw isn't something I really need but I'm sure in a couple years I plan on doing more and more carpentry....once the fiancée starts popping out some kids maybe I'll be more into the knick knacks.

No lol, jk I feel ya. I went for the m12 right angle drill for the hard to access screws and the hackzall to get where the sawzall can't. Those might be my only m12 tools as I usually go for the m18 fuel. I can say one m12 item I definitely have my eyes on will probably be my most used tool.....the heated hoodie.

I believe that sale is a Home Depot sale so every Home Depot should be doing it. The deal on the m18 bare tool doesn't start until tomorrow though.

I went to home depot yesterday to pick up some m12 tools with their sale going on and was talking to the milwaukee (TTI) rep who informed me that starting 9-1 there is a deal on the m18 tools in which you can get a free battery with any bare tool purchase so as I was trying to hold off on the fuel sawzall looks like Monday or maybe Tuesday will be the day since they are throwing ion a 4.0 battery to boot.

Still under warranty? If you call them they might let you ship that one back and pick up a new one at the store while you are waiting for yours to be fixed and returned? It's always worth a shot

I can't remember exactly but all the specs are on Milwaukee's website, plus the 1-1/8 has a handle with vibration isolation on both ends with the 1" version only having isolation on the top half of the handle - I'm sure for long use the vibration isolation and a little extra weight will actually make the larger version easier to handle

Great suggestion! I've had one for about two and a half years now and it's the best tool I ever purchased....just wish I didn't lose my flathead piece.

I am a mechanical engineer who instead of engineering does project management for a mechanical contracting company so when we need to design the systems and build I am there to do it. However I never had any adult role models who worked with tools while i was growing up and as ive been around them more and more through project management I wish i would have gone into the local union for pipefitting and done the engineering at night and once done my apprenticeship was done started my own company. Now that I am a home owner I have my own little construction site aka my house that I'm always working on. I really wish i had the tool knowledge at a younger age but I'm getting it here and there.

Well to be honest I'm not sure, I believe the only way it would be possible would be for it to be in the tool and sense the sudden negative acceleration of the bit while the trigger is pulled and then tell the battery to cut power

I would say non fuel circular saw because every review I see says it's very close to the fuel version but if you need something for demo then hackzall or sawzall....I always favor the sawzall. I mean the milwaukee sawzall is truly the only sawzall out there

It will be here in the fall! I for one am very excited for it. I'm getting the bigger one, it's either 1-1/4 or 1-3/8 drill bit capable. Don't really get why they came out with the 1" and the larger one at the same time but I guess if you know for sure you'll never need larger than a 1" bit then it should save you some bucks.

Even though the multi tool didn't get a fuel version I still have a lot more tools to look at once fall arrives with the new line up, the new sds rotary hammer drill and new 7.25" circ saw will definitely be joining my red and black team!

I'm holding off buying the multi-tool as well because I want the "hopefully soon" fuel version, fuel seems like a great feature on a multi-tool because of it's constant run time. Something like a fastening tool that is on then off then on again doesn't benefit as much as a constantly on tool, especially if you use the multi tool for sanding and not just nothing out moldings
