Does anyone know if a guard link from a compound miter dws780 would work on a dws709?

Does anyone know if the guard link from the DWS 780 will work on the DWS 709? The one on the 709 is straight so if the wood if higher than 5 inches or so it hits it. I think the one from the 780 will work, but just looking for some thoughts.
